I went to Soraksan (or Sorak Mountain / 설악산 / 雪嶽山) with some friends. The mountain was so beautiful, and there was so much good food, it was a lot of fun.
날씨는 아직 추워서 눈이 많이있는데, 아름다워요.
The weather was still quite cold so there was lots of snow on the ground. It made the area so much more beautiful.
속초는 설악산부터 가까워요. 속초에 �은해변 있지만, 날씨가 아직 추워서 사람이 없었어요.
Sorak Mountain is very close to Sokcho (속초 / 束草), a seaside resort. The beaches were spectacular as well. But it was too cold to swim and there weren't many visitors.
The most famous restaurants in Sokcho are located in Abai Maurl (아바이 마을), or "Father Town". Abai (아바이) is "father" in North Korean dialect. During the Korean War many North Koreans fled to this area in Sokcho, hence the name Abai Maurl.
In Abai Maurl they serve Abai Sundae (아바이 순대) and Ojingo Sundae (오징어 순대), or "Father Sausage" and "Squid Sauge". Both are yummy special Korean stuffed sauages.
To go with the sausages you can have Hamhung Naengmyeon (함흥냉면 / 咸興冷麵), or Hamhugn Cold Noodle. It is spicy and cold at the same time, kind of like having summer and winter at the same time, or going to heaven and hell at the same time.
These restaurants like to have their pictures taken with famous people. Below is a famous Ssireum wrestler (Ssireum is 씨름, Traditional Korean wrestling) named Yee Bong Korl (이봉걸).
