We just came back from Sakura Tango Festival in Fukuoka. It was our first tango festival of 2014.
우리는 후무오카에서 열린 사쿠라 땅고 페스티발에서 막 돌아왔습니다. 2014년의 첫 땅고 페스티발이었네요.
7 things I like:
좋았던 7가지:
- The venues are VERY nice and relatively close to each other and the hotel.
- 밀롱가 장소가 아주 멋지고 호텔과 가까웠습니다.
- The organizer and staff are very friendly and helpful. Although they were working very hard, they didn't look tired and they were still patient all the time.
- 오거나이저와 스태프들이 매우 친절하고 상냥했습니다. 상당히 열심히 일하는 모습이었음에도 불구하고 매 시간 전혀 피곤해 보이지 않는 인내심을 보여주었습니다.
- The food, both in the festival and in Fukuoka in general. Even the 오뎅 in the 편의점 was nice. I have to say Japan has better 편의점 food than Korea.
- 페스티발 내 뿐 아니라 일반적인 음식들. 심지어 편의점에서 파는 오뎅까지도 맛있었습니다. 일본의 편의점 음식은 한국보다 낫다고 말 하지 않을수 없네요.
- 땅고지기. It was very nice to see him coming to the festival by himself and meeting new friends and having a great time. When I saw him in the milonga, it was clear that he knew what he was doing and he could more than handle himself as a milonguero. I was so proud of him!
- 땅고지기. 혼자 페스티발에 참여해서 새로운 친구들을 만나고 좋은 시간을 보내는 모습을 보는게 참 좋았습니다. 밀롱가에서 그를 볼때면, 밀롱게로로서 뭘 어떻게 해야 하는지 정확하게 알고 그 자신을 조절하는 모습이었습니다. 참 자랑스러웠습니다.
- Taking classes from Roberto Herrera and seeing him dance. It was the first time I took classes from him. It was very refreshing. He has his own style and steps, and the music he played in class was very quirky. His performance with Laura Legazcue was full of personality too. Seeing him up close makes me understand that no two great tango dancers are great in the same way.
Another story: 화이 practiced with Roberto in class and she said Roberto was one of the few dancers who have such strong energy that when they embrace her it makes her nervous.
- 로베르또 에레라의 수업을 듣고 그의 공연을 본 것. 그의 수업은 처음 듣는것었는데요, 참 신선했습니다. 그는 자신만의 스타일과 스텝을 가지고있었고, 클라스 내에서 트는 음악도 독특했습니다. 파트너인 라우라 레가스큐와 함께한 공연 역시 개성이 넘쳤습니다. 그를 가까이에서 보는것으로 깨달은것은 위대한 두명의 땅고댄서는 절대 같은 방식으로 위대할 수 없다는 점이었습니다.
또다른 이야기 : 화이가 수업시간에 로베르또와 연습을 한 후에 말하기를, 로베르또는 굉장히 강한 에너지를 가지고 있어서 아브라소 할 때 그녀를 긴장하게 만드는 몇 안되는 댄서들 중 한명이라고 합니다.
- Hanging out and dancing with friends. There were quite a few dancers from differnt countries and it was great to see them: Raymond & Lily from Hong Kong, Juan Carlos & Sae from Tokyo, Rodrigo & Natsuko from Hiroshima, Daniel & Anna from Taipei, Vivian & Matias from Shanghai, our own Jino & Yuni. It was really fun to dance with these ladies, and many of them will be here in May for Seoul Tango Festival!
- 친구들과 춤추고 어울린 것. 각기 다른 나라에서 온 댄서들인 홍콩의 레이몬드 & 릴리, 도쿄의 후안 까를로스 & 사에, 히로시마의 로드리고 & 나츠코, 타이페이의 다니엘 & 애나, 상하이의 비비안 & 마티아스, 서울에서 온 지노 & 유니 등을 만나서 함께 놀았습니다. 그들과 춤을 추는것은 참 즐거웠습니다. 그들중 여러명이 올해 서울 땅고 페스티발에 올거랍니다.
- Live music. The tango bands were of a very high level. I especially like Trio Los Fandangos who played on Friday and Sunday. They had great energy and their songs they played were very suitable for dancing in the milonga. Japan in general has a great live tango music scene and I hope Korea will catch up soon!
- 라이브 음악. 땅고 밴드의 레벨이 꽤 높았습니다. 특히 금요일과 일요일에 연주했던 트리오 로스 판당고가 좋았습니다. 그들은 멋진 에너지와 더불어 밀롱가에서 춤 추기 좋은 곡들을 연주했습니다. 일본은 전반적으로 훌륭한 라이브 땅고 음악을 보유하고 있으며, 한국이 빨리 따라잡았으면 좋겠습니다.
